I just received this email from the Micro Framework team:

“Dear Micro Framework Beta participants,

This week, we released version 3.0 of the .NET Micro Framework. Thanks to the bug reports, questions, and comments from you and others who participated in the beta we were able to create a product that we’re pretty proud of.

You can download the final version of the Micro Framework SDK from our website http://www.microsoft.com/netmf. Please be sure to be running the Visual Studio Service Pack 1 and to uninstall beta versions of the SDK before installing the released SDK.

We’re very optimistic about the future of the Micro Framework. We’re continuing to add new capabilities while continuing to stay focused on code size and performance. And we have some pretty exciting ideas for the future. Stay tuned.
Thanks for your feedback, support, and encouragement through this beta.

The .NET Micro Framework team”

Changes on this version include:

  • Debug/deploy over USB and any COM
  • SSL
  • Bluetooth
  • And many, many more!

This is a very solid platform and this new version is really good, this is definitely the right time for new comers to jump in and for old foxes to rejoice!!!!

Back on blogging…

I’m back after a few months off the blogosphere… Windows Mobile is enjoying one of its best phases ever and I’m really excited and have a lot to tell.

I’m still using Diarist 2.1 to write my posts (get it here), but now through a new connection (HSDPA) and a new device (HP iPAQ 610c). More on all that on the following posts…
