America Movil to sell iPhone across Latin America
“MEXICO CITY, May 7 (Reuters) – Mexico’s America Movil, the largest cell phone operator in Latin America, said on Wednesday it will sell Apple Inc’s iPhone across the region this year. America Movil which operates in 16 countries in Latin America and the Caribbean as well as the United States, did not disclose financial details. It did not say if it was an exclusive accord.”
This is HUGE!!! You know I’m not an iPhone fan and sincerely I think it is an overrated piece of ….. Equipment, nevertheless it is great to see that operators in Latin America are seriously looking at selling smartphones on a big scale.
That means that Comcel (which is America Movil’s subsidiary in Colombia) will be offering the iPhone in the near future and that should make some of my apple-freak friends very happy.
Despite all that I’ve managed to see a few iPhones in the wild here in Medellin, especially in movie theaters.
